Zagarolo is a special place. An ancient village on a tuff hill , which holds delicate balance between nature and man. Just like the wine. Here you can breathe an old tradition of making wine, one that created the legend of Castelli Romani. So are our wines, which arise from this strong and tufacea land, this story and this family tradition. We want to tell you with the same pleasure and spirit with which it comes between friends over a good glass of wine or maybe two.

HISTORY
We climb into a time machine and go back to 1960, the years of the boom and the sweet life. Our grandfather, Antonio Federici, decided to produce wine for that Italy, which after the war had finally the desire to come back to taste, to drink, to live. Thus it was born the history of our family in the wine: at that time, the wine was made differently from today, then in 2001 it took place a great change. Our dad decided it was time to move on to cultivate directly the vineyards, in order to control the quality of the grapes and to create wine by virtue of a taste that was changing and he was looking for a new reference quality.
VINES
We departed from the typical varieties of the region: Trebbiano, Malvasia del Lazio, Malvasia di Candia and Grechetto. And we joined their vineyards of Merlot, Montepulciano, Shyra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovinese. The perfect blend of tradition and a touch that revitalizes, regenerates, brings at a new level of quality and pleasant taste. We kept what makes the wines from this region appreciated and loved for thousands of years, and we tried to get them to the next step. The concept is “the evolution of species” that we wanted to express even the labels of the various bottles of Cesanese, with a monkey that passes through various stages of evolution, from the primitive to “I do not see I do not look I do not feel” up to join ironically a fresco by Michelangelo..


OUR VINEYARDS
All our wines are produced from grapes grown in our vineyards – from the ground on which our father and grandfather walked and worked- or farms and winemakers in the area, with which we have established long-term partnerships and fulfilling our same standard of cultivation and care of the vineyard. On bottles we put our family name, and we want everything to be done in our own image and likeness. This is why every day we are in our vineyards and our wine cellar. A personal commitment that we signed on the day we were born in this family. Cultivating them every day, we carry on the family tradition and territory.
PRODUCTION
The care of the vineyard continues in the wine cellar, according to the guidelines established by Franco Bernabei, who coordinates the work of agronomists and winemakers and every week passes by us to oversee the progress of work. Every time is a ritual moment to see how the wine takes its own personality, its FEW days distance changes, which make us to understand its development and potentiality. So are born the wines that collect prizes and awards from the Italian and international specialized guides.
